Creating a void in the Miami Dolphins' secondary, cornerback Andre Goodman has signed a five-year contract with the Denver Broncos, Goodman said in a text message to the Miami Herald on Sunday.
Goodman becomes the second of the Dolphins' five free agent starters to sign a deal with a new team, following safety Renaldo Hill to the Broncos as well.
The NFL Network reported that Goodman's deal is worth $25 million with $10 million guaranteed.
As a result of his departure, the Dolphins now must find a cornerback to start opposite Will Allen.
Cornerback Nate Jones was the team's nickel corner late in the season when he made strides, but whether he will emerge as a full-time starter remains to be seen.
Miami, which didn't host any free agents on Sunday, still has time to pick up a cornerback via free agency, but it will likely be a player with less starting experience than Goodman. The draft is also an option when it comes to finding his replacement.
