Dallas Cowboys talking to Dan Reeves about potential position

"Dallas is talking to longtime NFL coach and former Cowboys player Dan Reeves about joining the organization as a consultant/overseer for head coach Wade Phillips, a source confirmed Tuesday.
ESPN first reported that Reeves, after interviewing for the offensive coordinator position with the San Francisco 49ers, informed the club he was likely going to take a consultant position with the Cowboys.
Cowboys public relations director Rich Dalrymple would not comment on the report and said the team had no news to announce.
But a source confirmed that the Cowboys have had discussions with Reeves about joining the organization in some capacity as a confidant to Phillips.
In connecting the dots, it's a move that makes sense.
After the Cowboys finished 9-7 and did not make the playoffs in a season that began with Super Bowl-or-bust aspirations, Phillips promised to consult his coaching mentors and change how he went about his business of preparing a football team."
