Raiders assistant Skipper now running backs coach

"The Raiders on Monday became the last team without a head coach in place when the New York Jets hired Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan to succeed the fired Eric Mangini.
However, Raiders managing general partner Al Davis sewed up two more spots on his yet-to-be-decided coach's staff by hiring Lionel Washington as the defensive backs coach and Kelly Skipper as the running backs coach.
Washington replaces Darren Perry, and Skipper takes over for Tom Rathman, who was hired by the 49ers earlier this month. Skipper coached Oakland's tight ends last season.
Ryan's hiring came two days after Davis interviewed linebackers coach Don Martindale for a spot on the Raiders staff.
Ryan is the twin brother of recently departed Raiders defensive coordinator Rob Ryan and a close friend of Martindale's. Rex Ryan and Martindale coached together at the University of Cincinnati in 1996 and '97.
The Raiders now are in competition with the Jets for Martindale's services, along with several other teams without a defensive coordinator or linebackers coach at this point.
Martindale spent the past five seasons as the Raiders linebackers coach. He is considered a solid candidate to succeed Rob Ryan. The Raiders haven't interviewed any other candidates for the position."
