"Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan on Tuesday was named The Associated Press 2008 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Ryan, the third overall selection in April's draft, was a landslide winner in the voting of 50 sports writers and broadcasters who cover the league.
He became the third quarterback in five years to win the award, joining Titans quarterback Vince Young (2006) and Pittsburgh's Ben Roethlisberger (2004).
Ryan collected 44 votes, and Titans running back Chris Johnson was second with three. Broncos tackle Ryan Clady had two and Bears running back Matt Forte got one vote.
Ryan had 16 touchdowns to go with 11 interceptions this season while guiding the Falcons to an 11-5 record and into the playoffs.
Johnson led the Titans with 1,228 yards and 9 rushing touchdowns."
