Richard Seymour injures back
December 22
Boston Herald
"The Patriots didn’t escape yesterday’s 47-7 rout of the Cardinals unscathed, as defensive lineman Richard Seymour left the game with an injury late in the first half.
Sources close to Seymour said he suffered a lower back injury that left him in considerable pain following the game. Sources also said he is doubtful for Sunday’s crucial finale in Buffalo.
Seymour suffered the injury with 1:31 to go in the half when he was hit from behind as he was rushing Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner.
Seymour was down on one knee as the training staff attended to him. He walked gingerly off the field, headed to the locker room and did not return to the game.
Seymour, who leads the Pats with eight sacks, was not seen in the locker room after the game.
After two injury-plagued seasons, Seymour has not missed a game this season. With Ty Warren already playing with a bad groin, the Pats can ill afford to have another pillar on their defensive line hampered vs. the Bills."
