Colts to rest regulars in season finale

"Their playoff position secure, the Indianapolis Colts downshift to rest-and-recovery mode. That means time off in a four-day weekend, and for some starters, sitting out a meaningless regular-season finale against Tennessee on Dec. 28 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
The Colts (11-4) locked up the AFC's No. 5 seed with a 31-24 victory at Jacksonville Thursday night. In keeping with the team's approach toward past games that didn't affect the playoff position, coach Tony Dungy said today some of his regulars with minor injuries will not play against the Titans, who could also have nothing to play for if they defeat Pittsburgh on Sunday to clinch the No. 1 seed.
"The one thing we will do is protect the guys who are nicked up," Dungy said. "The guys who are iffy probably won't play."
That will probably include wide receiver Marvin Harrison, who missed his first game of the season Thursday with a sore hamstring, and running back Joseph Addai, who dressed but did not play due to a shoulder injury. Safety Bob Sanders has been nursing a knee injury for much of the season, too."
