"DeAngelo Williams insists he isn't upset about being shunned by the Pro Bowl voters.
In the last seven games Williams has been arguably the most dominant running back in the league, averaging an eye-popping 6.7 yards per carry while rushing for 815 yards and 12 touchdowns.
But he lost out to Minnesota's Adrian Peterson, Atlanta's Michael Turner and Washington's Clinton Portis in balloting.
Williams was selected as the first alternate.
"Like I said from day one, I don't really care about that," Williams said. "I just try to be productive year in and year out and whatever comes at the end comes at the end. I'm not worried about it at all. It doesn't faze me at all. Congrats to the four guys that did make it (on our team) to the Pro Bowl."
Williams said he's more concerned about getting the Panthers to the Super Bowl.
"When going to the Pro Bowl translates into going to the Super Bowl and winning it, then I'll be all for that," Williams said.
Williams said he was playing a video game Tuesday afternoon and clicked on the Internet to see who made the team.
"I just broke to see who got picked (for from the Panthers)," he said. "I didn't worry about it. I'm not a Pro Bowl guy. Like I'm not stuck on that. My season is not won or lost in the Pro Bowl."
Regardless of his omission from the NFC team, coach John Fox is still happy to have Williams.
He said he's grown as a player since last year.
"Like any growing process, it's been all around I think," Williams said. "Physically, I thought he worked very hard. This is a grueling season. I think it takes awhile to adjust to. Some people make if faster than others; some people never get it.
"But physically I thought he really, really worked hard in every area from endurance to speed training to strength.""
