The Newark Star-Ledger reported that former New York Jets wide receiver Laveranues Coles is guaranteed $9.75 million for the 2009 season with the Bengals.
The report said Coles, who signed a four-year, $27.5 million deal with the Bengals last week, received a $3 million signing bonus, a $4.7 million roster bonus, a $1.9 million base salary and a $100,000 workout bonus for 2009.
The report also said Coles' base salaries will be $4.6 million in 2010, $6.4 million in 2011 and $6.4 million in 2012 with a $100,000 workout bonus each year.
KUHN VISITS: Today the Bengals confirmed a visit by Green Bay Packers restricted free agent fullback John Kuhn, a 6-foot, 250-pound blocking specialist.
"He had a good visit. There is mutual interest," Kevin Gold, Kuhn's Harrisburg, Pa.-based agent, told the team's Web site. "The dilemma teams face is that they need to make an offer that's good enough so the other team won't match."
