Long-snapper Kyle hopes to stay
Unrestricted free agent Jason Kyle, the Panthers' long snapper since 2001, has received some interest from other teams around the league. Kyle received a physical from the Arizona Cardinals late last week, but hasn't gotten an offer. He's hopeful he'll stay with the Panthers, for whom he's played 128 games (seventh in team history).
"I talked to (coach John) Fox and (general manager) Marty (Hurney) and it sounds like they're open to having me back," said Kyle, who is realistic about the Panthers' salary cap restrictions. Hurney wasn't available for comment Monday afternoon.
"I guess they've got to find the money to do it, the way things are going over there," Kyle said with a laugh. -- David Scott
