A man casually walking through the Halifax Shopping Centre, carrying a machete, caught the attention of a merchant and police Tuesday morning.
Just before 10 a.m., a merchant reported to Halifax Regional Police’s community office in the mall that there was a man in the mall behaving in an odd manner, carrying what appeared to be a dagger concealed in his waistband, police said in a news release.
Two police officers located the man in a store on the mall’s first level. He was taken into custody and the machete was recovered without incident.
