LaDainian Tomlinson's future with the Chargers is still up in the air.
A team spokesman said Thursday morning that reporters should not expect any news regarding the sure-fire Hall of Fame running back's contract when General Manager A.J. Smith delivered his state-of-the-Chargers address at noon.
The Chargers are hoping to restructure Tomlinson's contract, which has three years remaining, to reduce the $6.725 million owed the former league Most Valuable Player for next season, with Tomlinson receiving a new signing bonus to be paid over five years.
A prorated portion of Tomlinson's 2004 signing bonus of $2.066 million also will count against the club's salary cap this season.
