Hypothetical....

We trade Peppers for a mid first rounder and something else.

What position or player do we hope is available around pick 15-18?

I'd have to get back to you with player names, but I'm looking for DT or a CB.

I don't know names either at this point and I agree CB and DT have to be top three positions. But if Peepers leaves, I think DE has to be up there as well, if the player at that spot is worth taking.

Since we don't blitz much or have an elaborate scheme when we do blitz, I am very concerned about the pass rush with Peppers gone. And we all know the best defenses put pressure on the QB.

For me it just seems that this off season is so up in the air right now, I am still in "what happens next" mode. :|

B.J. Raji from BC is a beast and he would help put pressure on the QB as well. Unless there is a DE worth getting when our pick comes then he's what I am hoping for.

Yes I think it should be B.J. Raji. I think we need a dynamic DE if Peppers leaves but man Raji would be hard to pass on if he is available. Matter of fact, I wouldn't pass on him if he is available.

I thought the knock on Raji was that he takes plays off. If I'm correct that's the same thing they said about Pep.

I have read a couple of scouting reports on him and none of them have mentioned taking plays off.

At this point no matter who we draft, I want them to have a love of football and a non stop motor. If Raji doesn't bring that, I hope the Panthers have someone at their spot who does.

I might be confusing Raji with someone else. I'll look into it.

If he does take plays off, then it'll be like we never lost anyone.
