Favre Has Torn Biceps

"Brett Favre's late-season fade may have an explanation.
The Jets quarterback has been told by doctors that a torn biceps tendon and some calcification in the area caused the pain he felt in his right shoulder, Espn reported yesterday. Sources told ESPN that Favre might need arthroscopic surgery to repair the arm, but might be able to avoid the procedure.
The 39-year-old quarterback was dismal down the stretch for the Jets. He threw nine interceptions and two touchdowns in the team's final five games. His slide coincided with the team's collapse.
It is unknown whether Favre will return to the team in 2009. He is expected to let the team know in the next two months.
In recent weeks, Favre has seemed more down than usual and revealed last week he was having pain in his shoulder. After Sunday's 24-17 loss to Miami, Favre said he planned on having an MRI, but the Jets have not said whether that took place.
Favre finished the season with three picks against the Dolphins, a sad ending to his career if it was his last game. "
