New York Giants' CB Ross hospitalized with concussion

"On a conference call minutes ago, Giants coach Tom Coughlin revealed CB Aaron Ross was hospitalized last night with a concussion suffered against the Panthers. Coughlin said Ross, who had blurred vision, was slated to be released this afternoon.

"He got dinged pretty good," Coughlin said.

Ross was replaced by Kevin Dockery. It's unclear at this point if he will be ready to play on Sunday against the Vikings.

In other injury news, Coughlin said RB Brandon Jacobs (knee), DT Fred Robbins (shoulder) and WR Domenik Hixon (foot/ankle) were probably sore today but he indicated none of those players appears to have suffered further damage to their injuries.

As to whether those injured guys will play in a game that means nothing with regard to seeding, Coughlin wouldn't say yes or no just yet. And when asked if he'd play starters who weren't injured in a game in which there's "nothing to be gained," Coughlin cut the question short and replied, "I disagree with you that there's nothing to be gained.""
