Panthers immediately turn focus to Giants
December 15 Charlotte Observer
"Next up for the Carolina Panthers is a road trip to East Rutherford, N.J., next Sunday to face the New York Giants in what will be one of the most significant regular-season games in franchise history.
Sunday's 30-10 victory against the Denver Broncos at Bank of America Stadium allowed the Panthers (11-3) to still have a shot at home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
That, of course, means winning at the Meadowlands against the defending Super Bowl champion Giants, who played Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys.
Many Panthers televisions were tuned to that game.
"I'll be looking at (the Giants') defense," said running back DeAngelo Williams after he rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown against the Broncos. "I'll be looking at how they play. It gives us a day of extra film. Seeing it live, in living color."
The Panthers are 3-0 in the middle the season's challenging five-game finishing stretch. Included was a 38-23 victory last Monday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
"There's a lot at stake going into New York," said linebacker Thomas Davis, who had a sack and four tackles against the Broncos. "We know it and they know it.""
