Cowboys should reconsider moving Scandrick from cornerback

Dallas Morning News columnist Jean-Jacques Taylor
"The Cowboys want to move Orlando Scandrick to some kind of hybrid free safety position.
That doesn't seem to make much sense.
He's the second-best cornerback on the team, and it seems you would get more bang for your buck with him at corner instead of safety. Good cornerbacks are so hard to find, and we haven't seen any indication that Terence Newman can play 16 games.
Do you really want Mike Jenkins, the one you saw play last year, to be the lead cornerback when Newman is out? I didn't think so.
Remember, safety is where average cornerbacks go to play - not good ones in their second season.
I know the Cowboys spent a first-round pick on Jenkins, but he wasn't better than Scandrick last season and I'm not betting he will be better than the fifth-round pick this season.
Yes, Scandrick would help the Cowboys when teams line up in three-receiver formations on first and second down, but the 190-pounder certainly isn't going to help, when 265-pound Brandon Jacobs comes bursting through the line of scrimmage in the two games against the New York Giants.
There's still time for Jerry Jones to reconsider."
